Persbericht van Hubback & Peijnenburg
De in IJsland wonende Welshman Steve Hubback komt voor twee concerten naar Eindhoven. Percussionist Hubback ontwerpt en bouwt zijn instrumentarium zelf. Ook maakt hij op bestelling metalen slagwerkmateriaal voor musici over de hele wereld. In IJsland houdt hij zich naast de muziek ook bezig met het maken van metalen sculpturen die soms ook bespeelt kunnen worden als muziekinstrument.
Hubback heeft een bijzondere relatie met Eindhoven. Hij woonde hier enkele jaren en leerde in 2000 de Eindhovense saxofonist Ad Peijnenburg kennen. Hubback & Peijnenburg hebben veel concerten als duo gegeven en produceerden voor FMR records de CD "And Other Stuff".
Op zaterdag 17 september speelt Hubback solo in de tuin van het Spoelhuisje aan de Dommelstraat 2. Dit in het kader van de Eindhovense bevrijdingsactiviteiten Het totale programma loopt van 14.00 tot 24.00 uur. Steve Hubback speelt om 21.30. Op maandag 19 september speelt Hubback duo met Ad Peijnenburg in Burgers aan de Hertogstraat 2b .Aanvang 21.00 uur

Jazzfestival

Iceland Soundscape
Percussion player Steve Hubback (http://hubgong.dse.nl/) is coming over from Iceland to give two concerts together with me. Subject of the concerts will be our adventures in Iceland from last november. Iceland tour
From october 31 untill november 9, 2004 I will be in Iceland. I am invited to join a project called: Iceland Soundscape. Percussion player (blacksmith and sculptor) Steve Hubback and I will be recording on different places in Iceland meeting all kinds of acoustics and sounds of nature. The Cd of this recordings will come out in near future (if you are interested please let me know I 'll keep you informed!!). Next to this recording Steve and I (sometimes joined by Icelandic musician) will give a couple of concerts aswell. Because Iceland doesn't have a big club scene, these concerts will be on various places like a bookshop, a recordstore, an art centre and a house for blind people.
